Buy from US Black Friday Sales and Ship to Singapore: The 2026 Guide

How to shop US Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales from Singapore: getting past checkout declines, when the S$400 GST relief applies to a sale haul, and timing your order across a 13-hour gap.

To buy from US Black Friday sales and ship to Singapore, get the order delivered to a US address (our Austin hub), then send it on by FedEx Express. Black Friday is November 27 this year and Cyber Monday is November 30. The number to keep in mind is S$400: at or under that CIF value, air shipments get GST relief at the border; above it, 9% GST applies on arrival.

Two ways to shop the sale from Singapore

Which route you take depends on whether the store will let you check out.

  1. Checkout rejects your card, or the store won't ship to Singapore. Send us the product link. Personal Shopping buys it on a US card at the sale price while the sale is running.
  2. You've already paid and shipped to a US address. Package Forwarding receives the parcel at your Shipbird address, checks it, repacks it and ships it to Singapore.

Either way the box lands at the same hub and goes out on the same discounted FedEx Express service. If you keep hitting OTP timeouts on US checkout pages, the Singapore shipping guide covers why that happens.

The S$400 line and a sale-week haul

This is the part of Black Friday that's specific to Singapore. GST relief at the border is judged on CIF value — the item, plus shipping, plus insurance — not on the sticker price alone. A single pair of discounted running shoes usually stays comfortably under S$400 even with freight added. A week's worth of deals from three different stores, packed into one box, very often doesn't.

That's not a reason to avoid consolidating. It just means you should budget honestly:

  • Work out the CIF value in Singapore dollars, using the exchange rate on the day you buy. Your US checkout is in US dollars; the threshold isn't.
  • If the total lands above S$400, plan for 9% GST on the whole CIF value, not just on the amount over the line.

Don't trim the declared value or label a purchase as a gift to stay under the line. Declared value should match what you paid, sale price included, and a mismatch is the quickest way to get a parcel held during the busiest shipping weeks of the year.

The good news is that Singapore keeps customs duty to a short list: liquor, tobacco, motor vehicles and petroleum. Clothing, electronics and cosmetics — what most people are actually buying on Black Friday — pay GST only, with no tariff stacked on top.

What the rest of the bill looks like

Before you commit, add up:

  • the US sale price, plus any US sales tax the store charges
  • the Personal Shopping fee, if we're buying for you
  • FedEx freight from Austin
  • 9% GST, if the CIF value goes over S$400

The Personal Shopping fee is one flat charge per order, set by the order total — never per item and never a percentage. It's $15 up to $99.99, $25 from $100 to $250, $40 from $250.01 to $1,000, and $50 flat over $1,000. An $85 pair of trainers lands in the first tier, so the fee is a flat $15. A $320 camera lens lands in the $250.01–$1,000 tier, so the fee is a flat $40.

Timing across a 13-hour gap

When a US sale opens at midnight Eastern time, in late November that's 1pm the same day in Singapore, A midnight Pacific start is 4pm. So the doorbuster you want goes live during your working afternoon, not while you're asleep — which helps if you're buying yourself, and helps even more if you've sent us the link in advance so we're ready when the price drops.

Order early in the sale. The best-priced stock sells out quickly, and the domestic leg from the store to Austin is the part nobody can hurry during holiday volume. If a present has to be in Singapore before Christmas, buy on Black Friday itself rather than waiting for Cyber Monday. Once the box leaves our hub, FedEx Express moves fast, and Singapore clearance is usually predictable because GST is one flat rate rather than a category-by-category duty table.

Consolidate, and let us cut the box down

Separate parcels each pay their own freight. Sending everything to your Shipbird address and shipping it as one box almost always costs less, as the consolidation guide explains. Holiday packaging is the other trap: gift boxes and display cartons are mostly air, and FedEx bills on dimensional weight (length × width × height ÷ 139, in inches) whenever that's more than the scale reading. We repack before anything leaves Austin.

Check the category before you buy, too. E-vaporizers and vape parts are banned outright in Singapore, and anything with a large lithium battery has its own rules — see prohibited items or send us the link and ask.
