Buy from US Black Friday Sales and Ship to the Philippines: The 2026 Guide
How to shop US Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales from the Philippines: getting the order through checkout, when the PHP 10,000 de minimis applies, and timing it for Christmas.
By Rahul Bohara, founder of Shipbird. He runs our Austin hub.
To buy from US Black Friday sales and ship to the Philippines, get the order delivered to a US address — our Austin hub — and have it forwarded by FedEx Express. Black Friday is November 27 this year, Cyber Monday November 30. Keep the goods at or under PHP 10,000 FOB and they clear without duty or VAT; go over it and both apply on arrival.
Two ways into a US Black Friday sale from Manila
Which route you take depends on one question: has the store already taken your money?
- Not yet, because checkout keeps rejecting you. Plenty of US retailers won't ship to the Philippines, and plenty more decline a Philippine card the moment it meets a US fraud filter. Send us the product link and Personal Shopping buys it on a US card while the sale price is still live.
- Yes, it's paid and heading to a US address. Use Package Forwarding. The box arrives at your Shipbird address, and we repack it and send it on.
Either way the parcel ends up on the same shelf in Austin and leaves on the same discounted FedEx Express service. The card-decline problem gets a fuller explanation in our Philippines shipping guide, so we won't repeat it here.
Where the PHP 10,000 line sits during a sale
The Bureau of Customs measures the de minimis on FOB value — what you paid for the goods, before international freight. At or below PHP 10,000, no duty and no VAT. Above it, you pay 12% VAT plus whatever duty the tariff line carries, and duty runs anywhere from 0% to 65% depending on the product. The Tariff Commission's Tariff Finder is the place to look up your item before you buy.
Black Friday makes this line matter in a way it doesn't the rest of the year. A sale price can drag something that normally sits above the threshold down under it, and a cart that keeps growing across four stores can push a haul that started well below it straight over. Convert the dollar total at the current exchange rate before checking out, not after.
Two details worth knowing:
- Same-day shipments are added together. If several parcels reach the same recipient at the same address on the same day, customs counts them as one. Splitting a haul into smaller boxes doesn't reset the threshold, and we'd rather ship it the cheaper way anyway (more on that below).
- Under the line isn't always zero. Customs rules for cross-border e-commerce were tightened in 2025, and processing charges can apply even to shipments under PHP 10,000.
Declare the price you actually paid, sale discount included. That's the honest number and, conveniently, the lowest legitimate one. A Christmas present bought in a US sale is still a purchase, so it goes on the paperwork as a purchase, not a gift.
What the order costs from our side
A Black Friday order through Personal Shopping has four parts: the item at its US sale price plus any US sales tax the store charges, one Personal Shopping fee, FedEx freight from Austin, and whatever Philippine customs assesses if the goods are over the de minimis.
The Personal Shopping fee is charged once per order, never per item and never as a percentage: $15 up to $99.99, $25 from $100 to $250, $40 from $250.01 to $1,000, and $50 flat above $1,000. So a $90 order of skincare pays a flat $15, and a $320 cart of sale sneakers and a jacket lands in the $250.01–$1,000 tier, so the fee is a flat $40. Package Forwarding has no purchasing fee at all, since you've already bought the goods.

Send it as one box, and cut the air out
Buying from several stores over the long weekend? Have everything delivered to your Shipbird address and send it home in one parcel. Every separate shipment pays its own freight, so one consolidated box usually comes out cheaper — our consolidation guide shows why.
Holiday retail packaging is the other thing that quietly costs money. FedEx charges on dimensional weight whenever the box is big relative to what's inside, and gift-season boxes are designed for store shelves, not air freight. We repack into the smallest carton that still protects the item before anything leaves Austin. On a Black Friday haul, that's often where the real savings are.
Timing it for Christmas
Most November orders to the Philippines are meant to be under a tree in December, so work backwards from that date. The slowest part isn't the flight. It's the domestic leg from the US retailer to our hub, which runs through one of the busiest weeks of the American shipping year, and after that, clearance at the Bureau of Customs.
Our advice from the hub: buy on Black Friday rather than holding out for Cyber Monday if the item has a deadline, and don't wait until mid-December to ask us to ship. If your cart has anything with a large lithium battery, a vape, or food, check prohibited and restricted items first — those are the orders that get stuck.
